Price was good. Postives are that it was very quiet and desk staff was helpful. Parking was free and views from breakfast room were good (when it was open...we tried to go up at night to see the midnight sun, but it was off limits after breakfast).
Room and breakfast were only fair. It's part of a hospital, so the decor was sterile. Breakfast was only mediocre. Service in room was limited, such as our beds were not made and we ran out of soap and cups.
Poor hotel at which I would never stay again! It's more of a hospital waiting room rather than a hotel.
Although our booking was somehow cancelled the hotel staff were extremely helpful in finding us a room in their hotel to stay in for the night. All hotels in Tromso were fully booked because of the Midnight Sun Marathon and without their help we would have been out on the street
Great view from the breAKFAST room
On arrival I was told my room had been given out because the city was full for a large conference; I also heard this happened at another hotel; they obvioulsy do this regularly, and have a well rehearsed drill to set up conference room with sofa beds, and I had to use the shower in their swimming pool; so despite 'guaranteed room' (by visa booking) this was very poor. They rectified it for the 2nd night.
Quiet and peaceful. Not very far from the citycenter. View is nice. Indoor pool and gym are a big advantage for those looking such facilities.
It's not really a hotel but could be better described as a guest house. No coffee/tea in the room. Reception closes at 10pm. There is a vending machine for coffee/tea in the reception area.
The rooms are very neat and clean. The view from our room overlooked the city and mountains and it was fabulous. They provided a very lovely breakfast and once again the view over the city and mountains were great! The hotel caters more for the elderly as it is more of a spa and wellness center, but it was worth staying there. The hotel is in walking distance of the center of Tromso.
We were allowed to use the heated pool only in the evenings.
the views were amazing, liked being above tromso, but only a short walk from town. electric bed and heated bathroom floor nice touch, maybe highlight these more. breakfast great, plenty to eat
clock/radio and kettle would have been great, especially the kettle, not sure if thats just a british thing?
A small, friendly and clean hotel only a short (15/20 min) walk from the centre of Tromso. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Our hand made picture in the room was very good. And the hotel staff is very attentive.
Location is very good, easy to walk into Tromso town centre and to and from the airport, very good value for money
Large room with fast free wifi connection. View from 5th floor breakfast cafe.
This hotel was created in a building that had been a private hospital. You can see it in the unusually wide coridors and desine. It feels more like a university hall of residence than a hotel.
I liked the from hot chocolate I was given on my arrival as was shattered from walking the wrong way to the hotel. The mattress was very comfortable.
I would have liked a room with a view but was told I should have requested one on booking it. Do ask to be on the front of the hotel over looking the sea. Also take the 42 straight fron the airport and get off at the first bus stop once through the tunnel.
Excellent facilities in a modern building which is not in the centre of the city but only ten minutes walk away (up a hill!)
If I didn't have my booking details with me they would have overcharged me "by mistake".
it is a very relaxed and easy going hotel. only a small number of guest rooms means never busy or crowded
promised before we booked we would get a double bed...but did not. they do not have any double beds! also its a very strange environment as it is a working hospital. the guest rooms are in fact hospital rooms with hospital beds and furniture...but not really a problem when you get used to it!
We loved the view from the hotel room. Fiendly staff. Shower/bathroom facilities.
No hairdrier in room (had to go down to swimming pool to use comunal hairdrier. Twin beds squeezed into corner of room. No room to get in and out of bed. Website does not have English translation.
